I just turned 37 last week.
I shared a confession on my Instagram…
That I always wanted to be rich.
But at 37 years old now, I want to announce that I’m already RICH.
Rich in love…
Rich in health…
Rich in relationships.
Every morning I get woken up by my kiddos, asking me to play with them.
Every night, I go to sleep in my comfy bed with the aircon turned on.
I’ve got a loving wife who wants me to be proud of who I already am…
I’ve got parents who are still healthy, and we go for walks at Bukit Timah Hill on Mondays.
I have friends who I know will always have my back.
I live life knowing that if I fall, God will be there to pick me up.
As I reflect on my life…
Here are 37 lessons I want to share with you.
On business, marketing, health and life in general.
Business & Entrepreneurship
1. Freedom > money. Build systems that give you time.
2. Scale only what’s already working. If it doesn’t work small, it won’t work big.
3. A good offer beats good ads. The right offer makes even “ugly” ads work.
4. Don’t run after opportunities. Position yourself so clients run after you.
5. Your story sells better than your pitch. People buy stories, not stats.
6. Abundance mindset wins. Business isn’t a zero-sum game; there’s plenty to go around.
7. Clients pay for clarity, not complexity. Nobody wants jargon. They want clarity & assurance.
8. Most ad problems are really offer problems. Fix the offer, not just the targeting.
9. “Boring” products can be goldmines. Cleaning, tuition, physiotherapy — packaged right, they scale.
10. Scaling is math. When CAC < AOV, feel free to spend more to acquire more customers.
Marketing & Growth
11. Specificity sells. “Play and sing guitar in 2 hours” beats “Learn music.”
12. Retargeting builds trust, not just conversions. It’s staying top-of-mind.
13. Proof beats promises. Case studies, screenshots, testimonials — these are the best ads to run
14. Systems > hustle. Without systems, work burns you out as you scale.
15. Omnipresence wins. Spread your content everywhere, systematically.
16. A lead magnet is just the start. The real work is nurturing.
17. Good copy doesn’t just explain. It makes people feel understood… and that’s what persuades.
Money & Investing
18. The best asset is you. What you learn pays dividends for life.
19. Sometimes boring wins. Index investing (like the S&P 500) compounds quietly but powerfully.
20. Risk feels bad now, but safety often costs more long term. Playing too safe kills upside.
21. One good deal beats ten average ones. Quality compounds.
Health & Fitness
22. The body is your first business. You may have many problems, but when health is affected, you’re left with only one.
23. Consistency beats intensity. Small reps daily > rare bursts.
24. Stretching & mobility is underrated longevity insurance. Boring now, priceless later.
25. Swim, lift, move. Every session is a deposit into your future self.
Family & Fatherhood
26. The little moments are the big wins. Like walking to school with your kids. Sliding down together with them at the playground.
27. Kids won’t remember the gifts. They’ll remember you showing up.
28. Freedom is being there whenever your kids need you. That’s real wealth.
29. The best wins aren’t business wins. They’re the ones you share with family.
Life & Philosophy
30. Losses are lessons. Every struggle is just a phase that will pass.
31. Abundance is magnetic. Focus on what you have, and life gives you more of it.
32. Self-care fuels self-worth. And self-worth fuels net worth. Don’t forget to love yourself and take care of yourself.
33. Life isn’t a textbook. There is no model answer — only your answer.
34. Happiness is a state of mind. You can learn it, shape it, and choose it.
35. Life gives signals before it gives outcomes. Pay attention, adjust, grow.
36. Play and rest aren’t wasted time. It’s where energy and creativity get renewed.
37. It’s possible to design a life you love. Where work doesn’t even feel like work.
At 37, I don’t feel like I’ve figured everything out.
But I do know this:
Success is not about having more…
It’s about enough.
Enough health, enough time, enough love.
If even one of these lessons resonates with you, then writing this was worth it. 🙂
